Stay Dead Snags the "Hero Award" at Checkpoint by Quiver Games in Vancouver

Vancouver, BC. Canada

We showed Stay Dead for the first time and we couldn’t be happier with the feedback and results we got at the Checkpoint by Quiver Games!

On February 23, in the heart of Vancouver, we went to the Checkpoint event organized by the ever-charismatic David Boguslavsky. The Northeastern University of Vancouver turned into a buzzing hub for over 90 developers and gaming aficionados, for a night of networking, showcasing, and celebrating the vibrant world of indie gaming.

The event was a spectacular mix of creativity and passion, showcasing a variety of games that spanned a whole spectrum of themes and fun. From action games that got your heart racing to to thrillers that teased the brain, Checkpoint had it all. And right there, amidst the excitement and the buzz, was our very own Stay Dead.

Now, here’s where it gets even more exciting. As the night drew to a close and votes were cast for the favorite games of the evening, something incredible happened. Our little labor of love was awarded the “Hero Award: Best game overall,” a recognition that felt like a warm hug to our team’s hard work and dedication. But that’s not all – this accolade came with a prize sponsored by Creative BC, courtesy of the government of British Columbia. Talk about a cherry on top!

So, to everyone who voted for Stay Dead, thank you from the bottom of our zombie-loving hearts. Your support means the world to us, and it’s what keeps us motivated to push the boundaries of creativity and entertainment. And to Creative BC and the government of British Columbia, we’re grateful for this support. It’s initiatives like these that fuel the indie gaming scene.

There’s so much more we want to achieve with Stay Dead and so many more adventures to embark on. But for now, we’re going to take a moment to celebrate this moment and the incredible community that made it possible.

Here’s to many more nights of success, innovation, and, of course, staying dead!
