Better art. Precise lighting. Juicy little particle effects. Maybe some screen shake if we&#8217;re feeling dangerous.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And sure, sometimes it <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">abarcador<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> about making things prettier.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But a lot of game polish is much less glamorous. It\u2019s figuring out why a player walked straight past the thing you were <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sure<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> they\u2019d interact with. Or why a perfectly functional laser doesn\u2019t quite feel like something you should be afraid of yet.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our dev team likes to compare polishing a game to decorating a cake.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First, you need the cake itself: the mechanics, systems, level design, and all the stuff underneath that makes the game actually work.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Then come the layers. Animation. Sound. Lighting. VFX. Art.
